When negative feedback manages to be objective, and specific to behaviors and the impacts of those behaviors, it can help people self-correct. It’s tricky to give negative feedback in a useful way, so take care with the delivery. Positive feedback should be given for real examples of something going really well, and credited to the special characteristics or actions of a particular employee.
